Best place to eat in Cape Breton, staff is friendly the food is great the oysters are the best you find in NS. Lisa was so kind to us and even gave us some wild chanterelle mushrooms to take home. We will definitely visit again when we go to Cape Breton next time.
The chowder is packed with large chunks of seafood -- so delicious! Also enjoyed the blueberry pie a la mode and seafood platter.
Little cafe's like these are why I enjoy going the back roads of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. On the main drag of Mabou, The Mull, sits rather in plain sight. Honestly if you didn't know about it ahead of time, you might mistake it for a house. Inside, is a very clean establishment, with a optional sun room for dining, as well as an optional Deli in the front that sells cured meats and cheeses by the pound. With an odd mixture of elegance, fine dining and comfort food, I highly recommend The Mull. Supper meals can be a little expensive but are well worth the expense, portions are gracious and leave you feeling well satisfied. Bathroom was cleaned often and immaculate, an they had spacious parking. The only nitpick I'd have is that they were short waitstaff(, the current waitstaff did there best and I`m not knocking points off because of it. Just know that top ups of coffee and water could take a little longer than the norm if there's only two front end staff working and its busy )
Terrific and reasonably priced food and such friendly people! We felt as though we'd lived in Mabou for years. Everyone was so kind and filled with humor, and they made us feel totally at home.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, Friendly, terrific food , clean and fair priced...gotta have their coconut cream pie...This is a must stop to eat in Mabou...Enjoy
